Odd Music - "I Fall In Love Too Easily"
Updated: Mar 14, 2019
A 1956 song from Chet Baker's album, "Chet Baker Sings," a year before the trumpeter began his decades-long descent into heroin addiction. Composed in 1944 by Jule Styne with lyrics by Sammy Cahn.
I love Baker's beautiful, naturally pinpoint vocals and quiet swishing of the brushes which have such a nice simplicity and pointedness, as opposed to Sinatra's version of the same year, which takes the tune slowly, in swaggery rubato, while a string orchestra swells melodramatically.
